The Matata Community Resource Centre was incorporated under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 on the 28th day of January 2003. It is located 24.1 km north east of Whakatane, 76.3 km south west of Rotorua, 71.9 km north west of Tauranga and 27.9 km south east of Kawerau.
The centre aims to support all residents within Matata and surrounding areas. This plan supports the existing community spirit and determination within the Matata community plus surrounding areas.
Matata is an easy going community, where people value the surrounding natural enviroment and enjoy having the ability to get to know thier fellow residents. People in Matata and surrounding areas see value in the small size.
The main focus of the Matata Community Resource Centre is being able to turn the vision of the community into reality wich will take time and dedication. With the commitment and enthusiasm of individuals, whanau/families, community groups and organisations, it will be possible to initiate projects, events and key ideas into Matata and surrounding areas.
At the Matata Community Resource Centre, in the comfort of a warm, friendly atmosphere, you can check your emails, surf the net, look for jobs, research any topic, chat to people around the world, study on line, play games and more. The computers are also available for word processing and printing, you can write your CV, business plans, type letters, homework, assignments, publish newsletters, basically anything that can be done on a computer that's legal. We also provide faxing, laminating and photocopying facilities at affordable prices.
