Our camp last week at Taupo was a great success. The students enjoyed the experience and their excellent behaviour was commented on by many people. Other people staying at the camp ground were impressed with them and the way they helped out with all the chores.
A big thank you to the adults who gave their time to help out during the camp. Noel Hahipene, Paul Moffatt, David Beck, Moana Hunia, Angela Kepa, Phillip Murray and Anne Maloney, we couldn’t have done this without you and really appreciate the time and help you gave us.
This Friday, we celebrate the feast of St Joseph. St Joseph is our patron saint and a wonderful role model for us to follow. He took great care of Mary and Jesus. This sometimes meant he had to take them on long
journeys, away from danger.
We continue to ask St Joseph to take care of our school and guide us to make sensible choices.
Winter is on it’s way, so enjoy the sun while you can.

-THIS WEEK’S VIRTUE-
FORGIVENESS
· I remember that everyone makes mistakes.
· I share my feelings without taking revenge.
· I take responsibility for my mistakes.
· I accept people without judgement or criticism.
· I make amends instead of punishing myself with guilt.
The father forgave his son and celebrated his return home. (Luke 15: 11-24)
Virtue Stars: Mya Whyte, Deante Johnson and Akuhata Ripaki, well done to the three of you!
INTERSCHOOL TOUCH: Permission slips for this are attached, please have these back to school as soon as possible.
ST JOSEPH’S FEAST DAY:
Tomorrow we will be joining St Joseph’s school in Whakatane to celebrate our Feast Day. Students will be travelling in cars or the Blue Light Van. They will be required to bring their lunch, drink and correct school uniform, including footwear. We will leave school immediately at 9am for mass at 9.30am. In the afternoon, we will be having a swim at the Matata Public School Pool, so don’t forget your togs.
CONDOLENCES:
To the family of Mr Peter Withy who passed away recently and also to Whaea Oho and family whose nephew also passed away.
EASTER EGG RAFFLE: Please remember to send along your donations towards this. There are extra tickets available if needed.
JUNIOR FOOTBALL:
There are still forms available at the school office if your child/children are interested in playing soccer. If you are interested, please have completed registration forms back to the school office by next Tuesday, the 30th of March or alternatively contact Paul Ibbetson directly on 3222187.
