Rangitihi Kohanga Reo

Rangithi Kohanga Reo, overlooking beautiful Tangaroa, situated in front of Rangitihi Marae.

Rangithi first opened February 13th 1992 by the (then) local Kaumatua Hare Semmons, Romana Kingi and Waitereuru Gypsy Tioke.

Rangitihi K.R is licensed for 21 mokopuna with 10 under 2s and 11 over 2s, with our operational hours being at 8.30am-2.30pm.

The Kaiako is Marlene Rondon, Kaiawhina Matengawha Hataraka, Kaiwhakahaere (Admin) Keri TeKurapa, Chairperson Louis Perenara and licensee Rinaha Piaka-Kingi.

Part of our curriculum is to Teach "Te Reo Maori", build rich language and culture enviroments, nuture wellbeing of mokopuna and whanau, support whanau to actively participate in kohanga and whanaungatanga.

Here's a little something from our mission statement:

"Ko te kohanga reo te poutokomanawa o te whare e pupu ake ai te mana, te ihi, te wehi me te warua o te Maori."
